NEW GROUND

This year, two new features were added. Starting a day earlier than normal, the Congress began on Thursday 18 April 2019 with Rounds 1 and 2 of a 9-Round FIDE Masters event and a one day Rapid over 6 Rounds.

Friday 19th April – Rounds 3 and 4 at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm

Sunday 21st April – Rounds 7 and 8 at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm
Monday 22nd AprilFinal Round 9 at 11:00 am

ALL tournaments consist of 7 rounds. 90 minutes per player per game PLUS 30 seconds per move. All events are ECF graded and the Masters, Open and U1900 are also FIDE rated.

ESSEX CHAMPIONSHIPS

Essex Championship Awarded to the highest placed eligible player in the FIDE Open, was won by John Moore (Writtle).
Essex Minor Championship Awarded to the highest placed eligible competitor in the FIDE U1900/ ECF U160, was won by Ellie Gamal (Basildon).
