Entries are now open for the Southend Easter Chess Festival 2025, organised by Giant Chess.
The dates are 17-21 April 2025 and the venue once more is Southend Adult Community College Ambleside Drive, Southend-on-Sea, SS1 2UN.
The Festival embraces the 6-Round Rapid on Thursday 17 April, followed by the 7-Round Congress from Friday 18 April to Monday 21 April.

Those who participated in the Rapid in 2024 will recall that the facilities available that day were less than ideal. The good news is that there will be no repeat of that state of affairs for the Rapid 2025. All facilities that regular competitors, friends and families are used to will be available, together with yElena’s acclaimed catering.
There will also be a Masters event, embracing not one but two tournaments, each 10 player all-play-all, i) GMs; ii) IMs. These events are being organised by Lance Leslie-Smith.
